Alexandria Training School

What about the notorious Alexandria school for first year trainees? A 10 minute walk from St Peters station past the exhilarating vista of Tempe tip, there was a tannery nearby whose smells used to permeate the building and about a block away was a foundry, which sent thudding shocks through the ground every hour or so. Some of us were sentenced to a year there in 1968.
